The 67th District Court Branch Network
The 67th District Court is the lower trial court for Genesee County, and it does not sit in a single building. Instead it spreads across seven branch offices so that most residents have a courthouse near home. The Flint branch runs out of the McCree Building on South Saginaw Street. Reaching the Genesee County Courthouse
The 7th Circuit Court and the Probate Court share the historic Genesee County Courthouse at 900 S. Saginaw Street. The building stands in the heart of downtown Flint, the county seat, a short drive from I-69.
There is no single courthouse garage. Visitors use metered street parking and nearby lots. The Mass Transportation Authority of Flint and Genesee runs bus service into downtown for people who do not drive.

Sobriety Court in Genesee County
Genesee County runs a specialty court aimed at repeat alcohol offenders. The sobriety court works through the 67th District Court and helps alcohol-dependent participants stay sober and avoid new charges.
The program runs in four phases over 24 months. A participant must reach 90 days of sobriety to graduate. The program fee is $300, and probation oversight adds $840, billed as $35 a month for 24 months.
To qualify, a person must have an alcohol use disorder, screen as high-risk and high-need, be a non-violent offender under the statute, and live in Genesee County. Judge Jessica J. Hammon presides over the program. The coordinator, Charlene Sierakowski, can be reached at 810-424-4372.
Federal Courts Over Genesee County
Some Genesee County cases are heard in federal court instead of the state system. For federal trials, the county falls in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

History of the Genesee County Courthouse
Genesee County has a long legal history. The county was recognized in 1835, and circuit court has met on the courthouse square in Flint since 1838. The first courthouse went up that same year.
Five courthouses have stood on or near the square over time. The 1926 courthouse was decorated with murals by the artist Edgar Spier Cameron. A recreated mural was dedicated in 2007. The current courthouse reaches its centennial in 2026, which keeps the building tied to the county's deep civic roots rather than treating it as a plain office block.
The Probate Court traces its own service to the county back to 1836. Today it works from Room 502 of that same historic building.
